Ayushman Bharat to spur Digital India movement

Union minister JP Nadda claims that Ayushman Bharat, will boost the Digital India movement.

With the ambitious insurance scheme focusing on holistically addressing health including prevention, promotion and ambulatory care, at a primary, secondary and tertiary levels, the minister said that, “The scheme is digital, cashless and paperless and will give fillip to Digital India. A pilot project will begin two days before launching of the scheme so that Arogya Mitras can start work from their kiosks,”

Arogya Mitras are facilitators who will be responsible for helping patients get easy registrations, linkages with the selected hospitals and diagnostic centres well as reimbursement of medical bills after their treatments.

10.34 crore families are set to be covered under the scheme and the beneficiaries will be given an insurance cover of ₹5 lakh per family per annum and with no cap for family members.
